Black Muslim Society

Organizations

The Black Muslim Society (BMS) is a student-led organization dedicated to building community, fostering belonging, uplifting voices, and drawing inspiration from the Qur’an as well as the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (peace be upon him). BMS provides a safe and supportive space where students can explore the intersections of Black and Muslim identities, celebrate cultural and religious diversity, and engage in meaningful dialogue. Our mission is to create a supportive (and fun) environment where intersections of various backgrounds and perspectives are explored and celebrated. BMS is open to all students.

Through mentorship, leadership opportunities, educational initiatives, and community-building programs, BMS works to empower students and highlight their contributions. We strive to create a campus environment where their experiences are affirmed and valued, allowing members to feel represented and supported. The organization welcomes all students, Muslim and non-Muslim alike, who seek to learn, connect, and contribute to a more inclusive and understanding campus community.
