The CareFree Clinic of Brown University is committed to providing basic healthcare and health education to the underserved communities of Rhode Island. This is accomplished through partnering with Clinica Esperanza, where our members act as volunteers. At these shifts, we help patients become familiar with general markers of health, using blood glucose tests, blood pressure measurements, and BMI calculations. Because many of the communities we serve have been systematically marginalized and are often low-income, CareFree Clinic is dedicated to understanding the interaction of these factors and their limitations on patient health. In addition to working at the clinic, we help the Clínica community through fundraisers, art installations, awareness campaigns, and more.
