Hansori is the Brown/RISD traditional Korean drumming group. They perform a genre of Korean percussion music called Samulnori, a modernized version of Pungmul (folk/farmers’ music) that incorporates four instruments (buk, janggu, kkwenggari, & jing), and share performances with Brown & the broader Rhode Island community. Grounded in their core value of unity, Hansori aims to cultivate a welcoming, inclusive space and is open to undergraduate & graduate students of all backgrounds.
