WORD! is Brown-RISD’s performance poetry group, and works to amplify the unheard and illuminate the unseen. Rooted in the spoken word tradition, WORD! holds weekly poetry workshops, semesterly showcases, and departmental collaborations to bring poetry to the masses. WORD! serves as a space where all students, including students who are queer, of lower socioeconomic status, and are students of color, can find alternative ways of speaking their truths.
