WORD! is Brown/RISD’s performance poetry group that is open to all Brown students working to amplify the unheard and illuminate the unseen. The group was created in 2001 by Sage Morgan Hubbard (Brown 03’) as a space where marginalized groups, specifically people of color, the queer community, those of a lower socioeconomic class, and other members of the Brown community could find alternative ways of speaking their truths.
