BRYTE works directly with refugee youth in Providence. They support the self-empowerment of refugee youth through providing academic tutoring and mentoring, as well as by fostering a greater sense of community among students who share experiences of settlement in the United States. They match Brown students with K-12 refugee students in Providence. Students travel to their tutees homes for 3-hour, weekly tutoring sessions in which they provide academic support along with non-academic mentorship.
