BRYTE works to support the self-empowerment of refugee youth in Providence, through providing them with academic tutoring and mentorship and fostering a greater sense of community among students who share experiences of settlement in the United States. BRYTE matches Brown students with K-12 refugee students in Providence. Students conduct 3 hour, weekly tutoring sessions in their tutees’ homes, where they provide academic support and non-academic mentorship.
