The mission of the Brown Debating Union (BDU) is to develop and pursue excellence in public speaking and oration in the Brown community and to represent Brown University in intercollegiate parliamentary debate competitions. The BDU exists to support and sponsor its members to attend regular debate tournaments in the United States, Canada, and other nations. In addition, the BDU will host a yearly parliamentary debate tournament and internal tournament open only to students at Brown University.
