oSTEM at Brown confronts the challenges of underrepresentation, negative workplace experiences, and a perceived or actual need to conceal one’s identity. They hold community building events, collaborate with other Brown organizations, and host guest speakers to foster a sense of community amongst queer members of Brown’s community.
